Des Moines Buccaneers Sign Forward Daniel Astapovich
Des Moines Buccaneers have signed several players on National Signing Day, including 2005-born forward Daniel Astapovich from Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 16U AAA program. Daniel will join an already struggling Des Moines Buccaneers side.
Professional Career
Daniel Astapovich was born on 2005 and currently plays forward for Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League (USHL). Traded from Madison Capitols this season, Daniel scored one goal in four games played this year after previously participating with Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 16U AAA program and has committed to Merrimack College.
At 18:11 of the second period, he scored his inaugural USHL goal when he quickly entered Waterloo’s zone on a transition chance and fired a shot past Jack Spicer for an easy goal.
Achievement and Honors
Des Moines opened up their scoring at 13:51 when Daniel Astapovich raced into Waterloo zone for a transition chance and scored on his own rebound. Later in the second period Zach Bade made it 2-0 by placing his shot through multiple defenders toward the goal for his inaugural USHL goal.
The Buccaneers extended their lead further in the third period when Vincent Salice scored his second goal of the game, followed by Braedon Ford scoring a shorthanded goal and making it 4-1.
