Early Life and Education
Barros was born and educated at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts. There, he became a four-year starter on their basketball team averaging 30 points per game as a senior; consequently being honored with induction into their Hall of Fame.
As soon as he graduated college, he was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics, before soon switching teams and playing more often for Philadelphia 76ers, where he averaged more than 13 points per game while serving as backup point guard to Allen Iverson.
He specializes in community association law and assists homeowner, condominium and cooperative associations in understanding governing document interpretation; drafting and negotiating association service contracts; collections; transition negotiations with developers; alternative dispute resolution (ADR); construction defect litigation as well as other matters.
Barros has undertaken various professional endeavors throughout his career, such as creating a fragrance guide for men and women alike, providing consultancy services, and writing two books: 202 Perfumes para Provar antes de Morrer – Edicao Masculina and 303 Perfumes para Provar ante Morrer – Edicao Feminina.
Mr. Johnson is a member of both the New Jersey State Bar Association and Community Associations Institute, and admitted to practice before both state courts of New Jersey as well as federal district court for New Jersey.
He currently works as a senior research analyst with Gartner’s IT Sourcing, Procurement and Vendor Management research practice, providing high-quality analyses and research that support client needs for infrastructure services performance improvement, cost optimization, supplier management and vendor selection.
Achievement and Honors
Barros was honored with an induction into Xaverian Brothers High School’s Hall of Fame after scoring 1,821 points during four seasons as a four-year starter, before 3-point shots were introduced into play. He was also named Catholic Conference MVP.
Barros was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers during 1993-94 and averaged 31 minutes of playing time per game while helping improve their defensive stats. He briefly joined Atlanta Hawks during 1997-98 season.
Daniel Barros earned a law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at William & Mary and currently practices law in New Jersey where he represents clients regarding Business Litigation issues. Additionally, Daniel is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
Barros is a frequent contributor to NESN’s “Basketball Insider”, providing analysis on NBA players. Additionally, he has worked as a broadcaster on both ESPN and Fox Sports.

Margaret “Peggy” Barros Sudanos and Edward Lukas had two grandchildren together – Edward Lukas and Ryleigh Lukas, as well as great grandchild Teagan Lukas – whom they inherited after his death on June 14, 2021 at age 74. His legacy lives on through their children and grandchildren; his grave can be found at Atkinson, New Hampshire.
