Daniel Detwiler is an amazing professor at ccph, often being strict but always being great teacher overall. He provides clear explanations and approaches psychology from an enjoyable angle – even using short stories to help remember terms used within psychology! Daniel was definitely my favorite professor!

Detwiler’s career has been marked by his keen interest in food safety. He has published numerous articles and books on this subject as well as appeared on several news programs to discuss it, while serving as guest lecturer at various college and university courses.
Detweiler has had a tremendous effect on the community with both his work and donations. His generous gift of $1 Million to Phoenixville YMCA’s Deep Roots, Strong Branches Capital Campaign has transformed their facility into a modern health and wellness center for the entire neighborhood.

Detwiler is currently playing left-handed pitch for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball, having also served with Harrisburg Senators, Syracuse Chiefs, and Texas Rangers in his career.
He has an awesome sense of humor and is very understanding if assignments are turned in late. I truly enjoyed his class; his use of stories to help remember psychology terms made this professor my favorite at CFCC!
On March 13, 1856 in Pennsylvania he married Harriet Elizabeth Detwiler (nee Shambough). This union produced 10 children: Elias Landis Detwiler, Christian Landis Detweiler and 8 other siblings. Detweiler still resides in Strongstown today as an active member of the Church of Christ; additionally he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from University of Delaware.

Daniel Detwiler was a highly distinguished student and athlete during his time at the university. He earned numerous accolades and awards during this time, such as winning the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete award in 2023 and being nominated twice for Tewaaraton awards as semifinalists and being an All-Patriot League player.
She completed 197 draw controls and caused 65 turnovers throughout her career, holding fifth place in program history for draw controls.
She was also an outstanding scholar who received several teaching awards. Additionally, she belonged to the Griffin Society honors and social organization.
She was an extremely dedicated and hardworking student. In a relatively short period of time she has accomplished much and been an inspiration to others. Additionally, she is known to be very compassionate and loving person.
Personal Life
Daniel makes it a priority to give back to his community despite leading an opulent lifestyle. He serves on the Board of Directors of a non-profit and also teaches classes at his local high school.
Professor Heise is very approachable, making time to answer any queries or accept late assignments without issue. I count him among my favorite professors at CFCC.
Detwiler is an avid snowboarder and traveler. He also takes great pleasure in spending time with his friends and family, particularly flashy cars that he often posts images of on social media accounts.
