Under his supervision and working alongside Sean Parker of Entrepreneur Media Inc, he designed Causes – an early Facebook app allowing users to form groups around shared interests and raise funds for nonprofit organizations – an early application on the platform. Mahan was recently appointed director of the newly-formed Institute on Catechism within the USCCB Secretariat for Evangelization and Catechesis. His tenure begins July 1. This institute strives to assist bishops and local catechetical leaders implement an evangelizing catechesis.
