Mahdavian has become well-known for creating the Experience Room, a private tasting salon where guests can sip wine by the spoon – one-ounce crystal vessels resembling soup spoons costing $15-$140 each – since opening of his hotel. Though initial challenges occurred (Swartz notes one of Mahdavian’s waiters was having difficulty explaining Royal Tokaji vintages), people continue to flock to The Trump in pursuit of these pricey experiences.
