Malarkey served in E (“Easy”) Company of 2nd Battalion 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division and received the Bronze Star for his actions during Operation Neptune’s Brecourt Manor assault – part of its largest ever amphibious invasion ever attempted.
He earned a place in the Hall of Fame of the United States Army and made numerous television and short film appearances.
