Daniel McLemore is an athlete of two sports. He competes in football and running track. This year he’s competing in the 60m at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

He’s hopeful of taking home victory at this competition set for Fayettville, Arkansas.

He’s excited about taking on his new role at Lamar State College Orange and hopes to promote it and its campaigns.

Early Life and Education

Daniel McLemore is an accomplished communications professional with years of experience working across different media outlets. Currently he serves as director of marketing and communications at Lamar State College Orange where he promotes their campaigns to a broader audience.

He grew up in Toney, Oklahoma and attended Huntsville High School under Jesse Keene, playing basketball as part of the 1930 state championship team alongside guards Jack Strong and Gene Williams as well as center Pete Keene and forwards Hugh Wilson and Tom Taylor.

After graduating from Mississippi College, Dr. Daniel Link earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and went on to complete internal medicine training and research at Barnes Hospital (Washington University) in St Louis while also researching cytokine receptor signal transduction in Daniel Link’s lab.

Professional Career

McLemore played a pivotal role in the Skippers’ success, helping lead them to consecutive winning seasons. Be it rebounding or driving to the basket, McLemore was an unmatchable force. His presence made opponents’ lives increasingly difficult.

His 2012-13 season saw 11 games with 20 or more points and three 30-point performances, and set the KU freshman scoring mark and led the Big 12 with an 87.0 free throw percentage.

After graduation, McLemore accepted a position as Director of Marketing at Lamar State College Orange. He is excited about this new role and its opportunity to make an impactful difference in the community. McLemore enjoys meeting people, developing campaigns and helping their business ventures. With 30 years of experience negotiating in his industry and its many branches, he is an adept negotiator.

Achievement and Honors

As a freshman at Kansas, McLemore earned first-team All-Big 12 honors while breaking both single-season and rookie scoring records at both schools. Furthermore, he became the only college basketball player this season who scored more than 20 points per game.

He led college in both rebounds and assists per game, was three-time Big 12 Player of the Week selection and four-time All-St. Clair League honoree.

McLemore held his ground at Thursday’s Media Dais, representing Oklahoma State and paying his respects to Vernon Grant, an outstanding longtime center of the Cowboys with whom they share an undying friendship and mutual admiration.

Personal Life

McLemore recently accepted a position at Lamar State College Orange as director of marketing and communications, responsible for promoting the college, creating campaigns that reach wide range of people, and answering any queries from the media related to either its operations or campaigns.

Mclemore and Chelsea live in Orangefield, so he only needs to travel about 15 minutes from home to his worksite. Lorelei, 8, and Jensen, 6, attend local schools.

His mother, Ruthie Thomas, lives in Duncanville. He has one brother, Marcus, and one sister, Melody. Marcus attends First Indian Baptist Church of Muskogee Oklahoma with Melody as members. Marcus enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as hunting and fishing activities – as well as his passion for music!

Though renowned as a basketball player, Rashad also made his mark in TV as an on-air personality. He hosted and produced multiple shows such as news, talk, reality TV, documentary programming as well as appearing on VH1 reality series Love & Hip Hop Hollywood as well as signing various endorsement deals over time.
