Daniel McMullan was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and loved taking his family on hiking excursions. Additionally, he was deeply committed to his Christian faith and regularly attended local church services and prayer groups.
He serves as the director of portfolio management for Blackstone Credit’s LCS unit and oversees multi-strategy separately managed accounts, commingled funds and exchange traded funds utilizing multi-strategic investment strategies. Furthermore, he holds membership on several investment committees.
Early Life and Education
John McMullan was a retired Spanish teacher and wrestling coach from Hotchkiss School who co-authored various classroom texts. He is survived by his wife, two children, three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He grew up in Seattle and New Halem, Washington. An avid hiker, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Additionally, he was actively involved with his church as well as various social activities.
He was an insatiably curious individual who sought to understand how everything worked. He often wrote in his journal about philosophical questions and theories that intrigued him. At times he experienced epiphanies which altered his perspective of life; these writings can be found in his book entitled, “What If One Plus One Is Not Two?”.

Dan McMullan specializes in property & casualty solutions and assists clients in designing, implementing, and managing coverage for international exposures. Additionally, he provides advice regarding contract/MSA requirements, coverage gap analysis, and overall program design.
He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine and has been practicing anatomic pathology and clinical pathology for more than 37 years. Additionally, he holds board certifications in these specialties.
At various hospitals in the area, such as Brookwood Baptist Medical Center and Ascension St. Vincent’s East Hospital, Dr. Wong accepts new patients and referrals; his office accepts most insurance plans; consultations can be scheduled on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8am to 5pm with emergency availability on weekends and after hours.

Dan was an attentive husband and father. He found great enjoyment taking his family on vacations together and was always available to assist a friend or stranger in need. Dan was strong enough to weather many difficulties throughout life.
His family includes Danielle and Brian Harrison as well as Alex Frost and Baily, Chloe and Sadie McMullen as grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rachel Aronofsky had a daughter named Ella with director Darren Aronofsky prior to meeting Rachel Aronofsky and they have been married since 2006. Both Rachel and Darren prefer keeping their personal lives out of public view; it is understandable considering they both lead busy lives filled with work commitments.
