Early Life and Education
Daniel Moller was raised listening to heavy metal music in the Boston suburbs. But one day something clicked when he discovered his mother’s record of The Art of the Fugue–an unexpected find sandwiched between 16 ABBA Hits and Kenny Rogers–and became entranced by Bach.
Along the way, he investigates such questions as: what makes Bach’s music so profoundly moving for so many listeners, and how can Americans-with their roots in pop culture-learn from European craftsmanship.
