Who Is Daniel Winfrey?

Antonio Richardson, Reginald Clemons and Daniel Winfrey met Julie and Robin Kerry along with Thomas Cummins at Chain of Rocks Bridge on April 4, 1991. Richardson was later executed while Clemons and Winfrey raped and assaulted them before pushing them off into the Mississippi River below.

Early Life and Education

Daniel Winfrey was born in Sydney, Australia. He attended Sydney Boys High School where he excelled at sports and theatre – winning several scholarships along the way.

On April 4, 1991, Antonio Richardson, Marlin Gray, Reginald Clemons and Daniel Winfrey visited the Chain of Rocks Bridge that spans between Missouri and Illinois on the Mississippi River. While walking back to their cars they noticed Julie Kerry and Robin Kerry from Missouri; along with Thomas Cummins as cousins walking towards them.

Richardson and Clemons decided to rob and rape two sisters. Winfrey kept watch over one of them while Richardson and Clemons took turns raping her, before pushing both girls off a bridge into the Mississippi River where their bodies would eventually perish from drowning.

Personal Life

Marlin Gray, Reginal Clemons and Antonio Richardson — three black men — engaged in an act of sexual assault against Julie and Robin Kerry before pushing them off of Missouri’s Chain of Rocks Bridge into their deaths. This case became highly charged racially due to its juxtaposition between their white victims and black defendants.

Winfrey appealed the Board’s notation in his 2013 and 2014 parole hearings that he was denied presumptive parole due to a “poor field supervision history”. We found no error here.

Professional Career

Winfrey has ventured into various business endeavors since she first made headlines. In 1999, she established Oxygen Media which produces programming specifically targeted toward women; later that same year she launched OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) her own television network.

At his trial, Daniel Winfrey testified against Reginald Clemons (executed 2005), Marlin Gray (serving life imprisonment), and Antonio Richardson (paroled for 30 years but violated it and returned to prison (Murderpedia). This case was highly charged due to all the perpetrators except Winfrey being black.

Winfrey was denied parole based on his poor field supervision history, giving the board reason to believe that he cannot live at liberty without breaking the law. Furthermore, they informed him of MOSOP requirements as part of his release plan.

Achievement and Honors

On May 30, 2007, Winfrey was honored with one of America’s highest artistic accolades – the Kennedy Center Honors. Her acceptance speech touched upon the need for free press as well as systemic abuse against women that surfaced with the Me Too movement.

Winfrey has long been recognized for her numerous film and television credits as well as her charitable endeavors, with one donation exceeding $13 million being to Atlanta-based Morehouse College that established their largest ever endowment fund in history. Furthermore, she received several awards such as President Obama awarding her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013.
