Daniel Ybarra of the University of Utah was one of three recipients to win a Fulbright scholarship this year, Zoe Diener and Kevin Priest also receiving this prestigious award. Diener will conduct research into public health in Namibia while Priest will teach English classes both there and Greece.

At Vista Murrieta High School, Ybarra also competed in track and field. He earned four All-Southwestern League running back awards as well as two state champion titles in 3200 meters running back events, setting personal best times of 9:45 for mile running and 16:30 for three mile cross country events.

Mountain biking, hiking and camping are among her many hobbies; she also likes cooking and spending time with her husband and three children.

Erin attended Vista Murrieta High School in California and competed on their cross country team as well as competing in soccer and tennis. She now attends CSUSM for her studies while being part of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Merkel Texas as an accordionist – one of only a handful of women involved in conjunto music!
