David Birsner was the former husband of American actress Wendy Moniz. They were married from 1991 until 1996 and divorced two years later in 1996.

Wendy Moniz is an American television actress best known for her roles on Guiding Light and Law & Order: Organized Crime. Additionally, her acting credits include several commercials.

Early Life and Education

David Birsner was born on January 2, 1944 in Floral Park, New York to Laurence and Elizabeth (Farley) Birsner. He attended Herrick’s High School before continuing on to Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY.

He married Patricia (Patty) Bodo in 1966 and they had two children together. As a dedicated and decorated member of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, his legacy lives on today.

He was an advocate for education, encouraging people to pursue their academic dreams. Additionally, he was involved in community service projects such as helping the Antelope Valley College Foundation, Veterans Club of Antelope Valley College, Procare Hospice and Antelope Valley Young Marines. Sadly, friends and family will miss him dearly.

David Birsner was a renowned police officer who served with distinction for over two decades. While serving in the United States Navy (2006-2013), Birsner earned numerous honors. These included receiving the Bronze Star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Naval Achievement Medal.

At Furman University, he served as offensive coordinator and assisted the Paladins to a 4-9 season in 2015 – their most wins since 2014. Furthermore, Birsner developed two first-team All-Conference players and the Patriot League Rookie of the Year. Outside of coaching duties, Birsner volunteered his time by connecting individuals with agencies offering NARCAN training and serving on local Polar Plunge committees. Currently studying Human Affairs at The Citadel, his professional goal is to pursue an occupation within Human Affairs.
