David Brush, a retired Army staff sergeant, is an active member of Yakima’s VFW Post 379 and the owner and operator of Blossom Place Assisted Living Facility in Yakima.
He is in training to set the Guinness World Record for most chin-ups completed within 24 hours and has set a fundraising target of $5,500.
Early Life and Education
David Brush was born into a wealthy family in Paris to an influential family. However, he chose not to follow in their footsteps and pursue art instead – becoming one of the pioneers of Neoclassicism, combining classical subjects with linear precision and minimalist composition.
His initial successes were iconic images of valor and noble deeds, commissioned by royal and aristocratic patrons. These paintings were an answer to the demand for art that directly communicated civic virtues to a wide audience.

David Brush has extensive legal experience, specializing in patent preparation, prosecution and enforcement for clients with intellectual property matters. His clients range from electrical to semiconductor, software to medical industries; furthermore he specializes in Paris Convention and PCT National Phase filings in the U.S.

Additionally, as a member of ePHILD’s community he is involved in philanthropic endeavors; serving on both Penn Alumni Board of Directors as well as Penn Soccer Executive Board.
David Brush has had the unique position of Associate Chair in the Civil Department at the University of Waterloo since January. With over two decades of leadership experience under his belt, he has truly made a mark on students and staff alike.

At his home studio, Brush crafts jewelry pieces from various metals. As part of his meditative routine, he sweeps the floor to clear away any distractions and focus on working with materials.
He uses a variety of techniques and tools to achieve his results. For instance, he utilizes forty-power surgical binoculars to detect tiny gold particles three times thinner than cigarette paper at.008 inch in diameter – this level of detail enables him to maintain high precision in his work.
