David Dubick is a tax controversy attorney who represents individuals and businesses in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state tax agencies. Additionally, he provides assistance with business, real estate, and tax planning matters.
He was previously a principal at Lightspeed Venture Partners, where he acquired or managed investments in CloudPassage, Docker, Dremio, Handshake, Parsable, CloudBees, Velo3D, SnapRoute and Barefoot Networks.
Professional Career
Dubick has extensive expertise in city politics as both director of policy and deputy chief of staff to Mayor Jerry Sanders. Her duties include overseeing the execution of city policies and contract negotiation with public sector organizations – such as the $45 million Plaza de Panama project in Balboa Park.
Dubick said she plans to take a break from professional work and rekindle her love of La Jolla. She will take advantage of all the volunteer opportunities available and reconnect with the community she cherishes, she said.

David Dubick is a Principal at DFJ Growth, an investment team that specializes in growth-stage investments across cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, SaaS software and mobile apps. Prior to this he spent two years at Lightspeed Venture Partners where he sourced and managed investments such as CloudPassage, Docker, Dremio, Handshake, Parsable CloudBees Velo3D SnapRoute and Barefoot Networks.
He is survived by his parents, Murry and Ellen Dubick of Marlboro; partner John Jackson; sister Debra BrooksHayes of Hudson; brother Daniel Dubick of Dracut; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Additionally he leaves behind paternal grandmother Jeanette Dubick from Framingham; maternal grandfather Harry Brough from Onancock, Va. Throughout life he dedicated himself to family, friends, theater, music and travel – which he loved immensely!
