Early Life and Education
David Mansur was born in Colombia and spent much of his early life traveling with his father to Equatorial Guinea, Africa. It was here where his passion for painting and drawing first began to flourish.
His new style of art consisted of pastel drawings of lutes, grenadine fruits and music sheets on paper – not only did this provide him with an escape from his earlier works but it also allowed him to express a whole new set of artistic concepts.
Naum Gabo helped him return to organic drawing and reignite his artistic passion, suggesting he draw on his Spanish and Latin roots to produce works which did not replicate precise drawings but instead represented the imprecise style of Renaissance art.

David Mansur earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and went on to obtain both his medical and radiation oncology residency training from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Robert is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology & Oncology and affiliated with University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center; accepting various insurance plans as a member.
One of his best known works, San Jorges (Saint George), dates back to the mid 1980s and features paintings that can be quite disturbing to viewers. They evoke feelings of horror or terror which can often leave an impactful visual image for you to view.

David Mansur had many achievements during his lifetime. He was an exceptional artist, an esteemed chess player and an exemplary military officer.
He proudly served his nation in the United States Army as Sargent 1st Class and earned various military accolades such as: Army of Occupation Medal (Japan); Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars; UN Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He also earned a Doctor of Education Degree from North Carolina State University, and this prestigious institution honored his accomplishments by awarding him with the 2021 Alumni Association Award.
As well as his many accomplishments, he had a deep affinity for family and friends. He was an excellent partner to Diane and an incredible father to their three daughters.
