David Sammons is a retired public school employee and the CEO of Twin Oak Excavation, an excavation company that specializes in digging ponds, ditches and septic tanks.

In addition to his professional duties, he enjoys fishing and hunting. Furthermore, he is an accomplished drone pilot.

Early Life and Education

David Sammons was born on October 25, 1951 in Blythville, Arkansas as the youngest of three children. He enjoyed NASCAR, country music and gardening.

He was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church and attended Whitehall Yearling High School.

He had been employed as a customer service manager at Vons grocery stores until 2014, when he retired.

David Sammons has a keen interest in sports. In 2017, his involvement with Harlow Sammons Racing, running the Chevy Camaro Pro Stock division of NASCAR, saw them emerge as one of the top teams within that category.

Achievements and Honors

David Sammons served in the United States Army National Guard for several years, serving in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Tragically, on May 6, 2006 he was killed in action while serving his country.

While in the Army, he served in various capacities such as fire support system engineer at Fort Benning, Georgia and medic. For his services he earned numerous awards and decorations.

After returning home from the Army, he attended the University of Maine to study Wildlife Ecology. Additionally, he served as a military instructor and directed a middle school science honors program.

He was an accomplished painter, creating landscapes, seascapes, mountains, lakes, deserts, coastal ranges along California’s coastline in all seasons. Most of his works were sold through private galleries or personal connections.
