Ed Daniels hails from New Orleans and currently works for WGNO-TV. Since 1992 he has held the post. Two-time Louisiana Sportscaster of the Year Award winners, he also helped create Friday Night Football in 1991.

Early Life and Education

Ed Daniels has been involved in karate for more than 30 years. During that time he has trained numerous martial arts champions to the 10th degree Black Belt level as well as being employed as a bodyguard/bouncer for wealthy individuals.

He attended Archbishop Rummel High School, graduating in 1975. Later he studied at Loyola University. Additionally he is the creator of Friday Night Football, one of New Orleans’s most beloved high school football shows.

He serves as an assistant track and field coach at Southern New Hampshire University, specializing in throwing events. Under his coaching, several athletes have won indoor and outdoor New England high school championships; additionally he is active in his community by giving back through donations made to various charitable causes.

Professional Career

Edward Daniels is a professional actor who has steadily performed both theatre and film roles since graduating college. Additionally, he produced multiple shows for Washington, DC’s Capital Fringe Festival as well as being a member of Actors’ Equity Association.

He also worked as a sports anchor and reporter at WGNO News in New Orleans, creating Friday Night Football as the inaugural high school football show – now in its 12th season!

Ed has held various senior management positions at companies and agencies. At PRO-TEK, his business has expanded quickly due to strong ties with top manufacturers; providing flexible work arrangements within a family-friendly atmosphere while offering top-quality service for restaurants as well as corporate clients.

Achievement and Honors

Ed Daniels remains humble despite his success in business, taking time out for family time, listening to classic country western music, photography and collecting sports memorabilia.

Since 2014, Ed Daniels has served as an assistant coach for women’s throwing events at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). Additionally to coaching duties, he established the Ed Daniels Track and Field Endowment Fund to provide resources to his team.

His memberships include Ebenezer Baptist Church West and Athens Area Chamber of Commerce; as well as serving on their board. He sits on the University of Georgia Advisory Council for its Master of Social Work degree program, writing numerous scholarly articles and national conference papers about civil rights and social justice issues.

Personal Life

He serves as an administrator for various high school sports competitions, working alongside Riverside basketball coach Timmy Byrd and Brother Martin baseball coach Mark Wisniewski as co-tournament administrators of Louisiana’s premier high school basketball tournament, the Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic.

He has worked at WGNO TV since 1992 and been awarded Louisiana Sportscaster of the Year twice from both sportswriters and national Sportscasters Association. Christopher, Erin, Stephanie and Ryne make up his beautiful family.

Net Worth

Ed Sheeran has amassed immense wealth through his music career. Beginning as an independent artist, his fortunes skyrocketed when he signed to Atlantic Records. Since then he has released five albums so far and is working on his sixth.
