First Take Live Today
First Take is a morning studio show on ESPN that features expert opinions on sports topics. It airs weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon ET and is available on the ESPN App. Originally, the show aired in Studio E at the ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut. In September 2018, however, it moved to its current location at South Street Seaport on Pier 17. It also broadcasts roadshows during major sporting events.
This show will feature Stephen A. Smith, the Dallas Cowboys legendary quarterback and owner, along with Molly Qerim and NFL analysts Stephen A. Smith. There will also be a special appearance by Cowboys mascot Rowdy. Fans are invited to attend the live taping of the show.
“First Take” will air on Friday, Sept. 2, as part of Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic weekend. The four-day event takes place over Labor Day weekend and culminates with a game between Central State University Marauders and Winston-Salem State University Rams on Sunday, Sept. 4. The stadium will open at 8:30 AM and the program will last from 10 AM to noon.
Smith will broadcast a two-hour show at WGPR’s museum on Friday. This event is also a fundraiser for the museum’s William V. Banks Broadcast Museum & Media Center, which will be expanded. This event will also celebrate the history of WGPR, the nation’s first Black-owned television station.
