He is now the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks, leading them to an unprecedented eight victories this season – their most since 2011. He’s currently a candidate for 2021 Werner Ladder AFCA FBS National Coach of the Year.

George Pittman earned numerous accolades throughout his long teaching career for his scholarly accomplishments. He was an inspiring teacher, mentor and coach to students and colleagues alike.

After retirement, he found a second calling as an active volunteer and leader at the Parker County Center of Hope. He served as deacon, choir member, mission group leader and dedicated volunteer there for many years.

George and Alicia shared a passion for travel, service and adventure that had been nurtured over decades. Together, they led students on trips throughout Europe and taught English as a Second Language at schools and universities in China.
