John Badik, Mercer University’s Director of Compliance, Passed Away on Friday, November 16, 2021
On November 16th, 2021, John Badik – Mercer University’s Director of Compliance – passed away. Survived by his wife Maria Badik of Tobyhanna; daughter Deanna Katsock (David), Tobyhanna; son Joseph C. Badik of Scranton; brothers Marc Badik from East Windsor NJ and John from Stony Point NY; as well as grandson David Katsock III.
Achievements and Honors
John badik has achieved many things in his lifetime. He is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary society for financial information students and professionals; he’s been involved with the Pricing Carbon conference at Wesleyan University; spoken on climate change; and helped build a Habitat for Humanity home as part of General Electric’s contribution to the 2010 United Way campaign. Among other honors, John received The College of New Rochelle’s Ursula Laurus Award for leadership and service to their alma mater.
John Badik was a dedicated father and husband, as well as an enthusiastic outdoor sportsman who loved hunting, camping and target shooting. His passion for car repair earned him recognition at local car shows where his vehicle would often be displayed. He was an enthusiastic New York Yankees fan and active member of both the Knights of Columbus (Honorary 4th Degree) and Sinepuxent American Legion Post #166. Additionally, he enjoyed boating, bowling and snow skiing; plus he was an accomplished figure skater. He is survived by his wife, Maria Badik; daughters Deanna Katsock and David of Tobyhanna, Joseph C. Badik of Scranton and his girlfriend Casey Van Fleet; brothers Marc Badik of East Windsor NJ and John Badik of Stony Point NY; a grandson and many nieces and nephews.
