John Bald

John Bald is a professor of theatre at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC and offers instruction on scenic design, lighting and stage makeup.

He has authored several books, such as “Notes to a Bald Buffalo” and “The Bald Eagle of North America.” Currently living in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he holds both a bachelor’s degree in theatre from Baldwin-Wallace College and master’s in theatre design from Brandeis University.

Achievements and Honors

Bald has achieved a great deal during his four years at the Mount, from winning first-place in the Reverend John B. Holley Memorial Prize to earning numerous award winning performances at varsity cross country meets. These record breaking accomplishments came alongside some incredible life experiences that he will cherish long after graduation. In addition, he was named to the honor roll each of his last two years and eagerly anticipates what comes next in life.

Personal Life

John Bald holds his role as Green Lantern and founding member of the Justice League with immense respect, taking his responsibilities as protector of Earth and founding member seriously. When using power rings, John opts for basic beam-blasts and defensive barriers rather than more advanced constructs.

Bald’s involvement with the Green Lantern Corps and Justice League aside, he also has an immense passion for photography. His images document various subjects such as business, ships, harbour life, industries, social life and hunting; all of which he captures at his studio located in Midland, Ontario.
