On January 27, Kaercher hit a shot against Mohawk that would define their season and forever remain in her memory. That moment marked both the beginning of success for the Bulldogs, ushering in an era of greatness for them.
Early Life and Education
John Kaercher was born on January 20, 1860 in Preston, Fillmore County, Minnesota and distinguished himself as both an attorney and journalist. He founded the Traverse County Times and then the Big Stone County Journal.
He was admitted to the bar in 1890 and has been a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP since 2014.
He specializes in energy and technology M&A. Additionally, he advises clients on public and private securities offerings as well as telecommunications deals. A member of Kirkland’s Corporate Practice Group and co-chair of its private equity pillar, his expertise also extends to many other areas within the firm.

This honor was given to him due to his work on Collaboration Crushes – an initiative which brings together business, education and government sectors in order to address local economic challenges together. This program, which seeks to create jobs in the region, was one of the first such initiatives in Minnesota.
