The son of Michael Zbihley and Janet Ketchel, john zbihley grew up in Moon Township, PA. He attended schools in the area, including a private prep school in Coraopolis. He enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh for his bachelor’s degree, where he majored in history and English. After graduating from the university, he worked at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC. He later earned a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Chicago and a doctorate in medicine at the University of Pittsburgh’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He married Olivia Natalia Pura in 2020. They are expecting a child.
