Liam Coughlin Signs ECHL Deal With Worcester Railers
Worcester Railers defeated Maine Mariners 4-3 on Friday night in an ECHL North Division game, led by Liam Coughlin’s three goal performance for Worcester.
Coughlin played his freshman season at the University of Vermont. Additionally, his works have been displayed at several galleries and museums around Vermont.
Early Life and Education
Coughlin, though selected in the fifth round by Edmonton Oilers, remains hard to come across online. He excelled at Catholic Memorial High School – one of the top teams in the premier Catholic Conference – while also playing for Boston Junior Bruins.
He currently plays with the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL and will soon attend Boston University; however, his playing status for either this season or 2015 remains to be determined.
Young forward has good size and plays well despite not being overly physical, giving him potential as a power forward in college basketball.
Professional Career
On draft day, the Oilers selected Coughlin at age 19 after his outstanding season with Vernon Vipers of BCHL. Coughlin played an instrumental role in helping his team qualify for its inaugural playoff appearance ever.
Domestic Violence Liaison Gray provided testimony that Keith regularly used drugs and alcohol around Liam and spanked him on occasion, as well as attempted to seize control of their car with both Liam and his mother in it and drive it off a bridge into a guardrail. Liam Coughlin, a junior at Brother Rice High School in Orland Park, achieved something only one-tenth of one percent of all ACT test takers have accomplished: scoring an ideal 36 on his very first attempt! Not only has this impressive score been achieved on one test taker attempt; Coughlin also boasts an exceptional grade point average and participates in various clubs and activities such as robotics team membership at Brother Rice and volunteering with Edmund Rice Camp (a free one-week camp that provides arts, recreational activities and spiritual activities to children who cannot afford summer camps).

Worcester Railers Hockey Club, an ECHL affiliate of New York Islanders of the National Hockey League, have signed Liam Coughlin to an ECHL contract for 2021-22 season. Coughlin spent last season with Indy Fuel of ECHL scoring 17 points (6 goals and 11 assists) across 39 games; additionally he appeared six times across Bridgeport Islanders, Springfield Thunderbirds, and Providence Bruins of American Hockey League.

Initially committed to University of Vermont but subsequently switched his commitment to Boston University in February 2015.
