Imani Lucas was suffering from a manic episode when she drove into pedestrians in Midtown on Tuesday, according to her mother. Lucas remained silent as she was led out of NYPD’s Midtown South precinct on Tuesday wearing a gray T-shirt reading “Good Vibes”, black jeans and flip flops.
State police located her Tundra with extensive front end damage and three missing tires parked behind a local business three miles away on State Road 11.
Early Life and Education

Lucas had aspirations of becoming a professional racecar driver as part of his teenage dreams. Unfortunately, an accident that changed everything caused by Lucas resulted in severe spinal cord damage which prevented him from ever driving again.
Lucas continues to serve despite his injuries. Now serving as Captain overseeing patrol operations at both Hollywood and Devonshire Patrol Divisions. Additionally, he holds a Master of Dispute Resolution degree from Pepperdine University. Lucas is also an avid runner.
