Northeastern Sorority

Northeastern Sorority and Fraternity Life

Northeastern has much to offer students. Whether it is watching a hockey game, participating in Greek life activities, or exploring Boston – Northeastern offers something for all!

Sorority recruitment entails short yet informative meetings with each chapter and an iterative mutual ranking system to narrow them down until you find your perfect match!

Early Life and Education

Northeastern University is an incredible school that offers many exciting opportunities. Greek life at Northeastern is flourishing quickly, and there’s sure to be a sorority or frat for every type of girl at this institution – including one which even hazes!

Aaron Brown and eight of his friends established Phi Delta Epsilon in 1904. Their goal was to establish an organization centered on principles such as philanthropy, deity, equity & education.

Rush is a two-week event consisting of social events and gatherings designed to introduce girls to each other. Fraternities give out bids during rush, with their brothers making decisions based on academic performance, personality and character considerations when choosing members for membership bids.

Professional Career

Northeastern University uses the cooperative education model, pairing periods of study with paid jobs related to your major. Co-op students gain invaluable work experience and often receive job offers from their employers.

Northeastern students also participate in research, many presenting at the annual Research, Innovation and Scholarship Expo of Northeastern. Notable alumni include talk show host Wendy Williams and Napster founder Shawn Fanning.

Northeastern is home to nearly 400 clubs and organizations ranging from acapella singing groups to Russian language lessons, with students participating in everything from volunteering opportunities to advocating for LGBTQ rights through resources such as Queer Alliance meetings, gender neutral housing units, healthcare clinics and healthcare clinics – earning it three stars on Campus Pride Index for gender equality commitment.

Achievement and Honors

Honors students strive for more than academic excellence; their peers, mentors and the Honors Program staff help push them to develop as leaders and citizens as well as achieve academic excellence.

Alpha Kappa Psi’s Chi Sigma Chapter at Northeastern University has already made an impressionful statement to both sisters and campus communities through its commitment to Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service values.

They worked hard to establish their chapter, conducting recruitment with quota plus one and reaching a high percentage of women pledges. Furthermore, they volunteered at Rosie’s Place and hosted university-wide talent shows as well as seeking amazing co-op opportunities; finally being recognized with Dean’s List honoree status this semester for all their efforts.

Personal Life

Delaney had family members involved with fraternities and sororities, so she knew that Greek life was what she wanted in college. Northeastern met all her requirements-it was convenient location-wise, business degrees could be earned easily there and had an active Greek life culture.

She was taken aback at how active her sorority is with charity events and how Northeastern supports its chapters, especially with regards to Birthday Wishes (which provides birthday parties for homeless children).

Delaney was very impressed by Northeastern University’s highly organized and safe rush process. They offer zero tolerance policies against hazing, while sororities abide by national and campus guidelines to ensure safety – they even have a Chapter Advisory Board made up of Kappa Delta alumni that help provide guidance.

Net Worth

Northeastern University should be an institution that fosters and enriches individuals, not feeding the hungry or housing the homeless. Yet Northeastern invests billions of dollars into projects such as ISECs and Lightview dorms (which cost $153.4 million each) while many students struggle to feed themselves or put a roof over their heads.

Northeastern University boasts a low-income student population, meaning chapter fees are lower than at similar schools with comparable economic demographics, and offering long-term payment plans and scholarships are beneficial steps towards financial independence.

Kappa Alpha Psi actively donates both time and money to service programs in local communities, including its Birthday Wishes project that gives children’s hospitals birthday parties for children who have no one else to celebrate their special days with them. Furthermore, this sorority has an antihazing policy with zero tolerance that strictly complies with national regulations as well as university regulations.
