Ozzfest 2010
Ozzfest returns to six cities this August with OZZY OSBOURNE and MOTLEY CRUE as co-headliners, along with Black Label Society, Drowning Pool, Kingdom of Sorrow Skeletonwitch and Kataklysm on the bill.
On the second stage, Skeletonwitch brought southern Ohio satanic noise with thunder plods like “Crushed Beyond Dust” and “Push The Venom”.
Early Life and Education
Ozzfest first took place in 1996 and has quickly become one of the must-attend heavy metal festivals since. Each annual tour helped launch many hard rock and metal bands into stardom while also sparking circle pits, protests, and even riots over time.
Ohio band Skeletonwitch kicked off their performance with a double-guitar thrash message that resonated with the crowd, while their drummer displayed impressive dexterity on an arena stage that dwarfed any they have played on before in clubs.
Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath made an astounding comeback after his quad accident in 2004 by headlining Ozzfest and other venues around Europe as part of their reformed band lineup. Additionally, they recorded a solo album together with Glenn Hughes even while still receiving treatments for their illness.

Ozzfest began as an experimental event and soon saw bands like Slipknot emerge as main acts, System of a Down making their first Ozzfest appearance on the second stage in 1998 and quickly moving to playing several songs there the following year, then Disturbed going from playing on that second stage to selling out arena shows with unprecedented performances, then dominating metal worldwide. Other second stage acts such as Hatebreed, Lamb of God and Bleeding Through were present and provided entertainment throughout.

After an unexpected break last year, Ozzy is back hosting his annual summer music jam – Ozzfest. Along with Sharon, Jack, and Kelly as hosts for this annual summer music celebration.
Each Ozzfest show boasts thirteen bands on two stages, and will include full sets from Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue as headliners on the main stage, Rob Halford of Judas Priest/Fight fame will also perform, Nonpoint/DevilDriver round out this lineup as headliners.
Ozzfest has played an essential part in launching the careers of many metal bands. Coal Chamber, System of a Down, Sevendust, Disturbed Marylin Manson and Limp Bizkit were just a few that have found great success at Ozzfest; others such as Static-X Hatebreed Skindred have also performed here in recent years!
