The Scots actor Sam Heughan has been in the news recently, with a range of projects spanning from acting, to launching a new whisky brand, to writing a memoir. He was born in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, and is best known for his role as Jamie Fraser on the Starz TV series Outlander. The actor has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Glasgow, a degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and has been honored by the Scottish government for his work as an actor and as a charity director.

Heughan is currently appearing on the British action thriller Suspect, which premiered on Channel 4 on Sunday. In addition, he is starring in a remake of SMS fur Dich, a 2009 novel by Sofie Cramer, as well as a romantic drama, It’s All Coming Back to Me. He has also released his own whisky, titled The Sassenach, which is available in the UK.

The Sassenach is based on a historic Scottish term that means Lowland Scot or English person. It is a blend of four malts and matured in Madeira wine casks. It has a smooth palate with rich aromas. The bottle design is inspired by the Great Glen Company founder, Sam Heughan. It is available in the United Kingdom through Master of Malt.

Heughan has also released a book entitled My Scottish Journey, which is based on his own experiences on a ninety-six-mile walk through the West Highland Way, a rugged, scenic path in Scotland. Heughan says his journey gave him a chance to reflect on his life and his heritage. He wrote the book with Outlander co-star Graham McTavish.

The book was a hit, reaching number one on the New York Times hardcover nonfiction list. Heughan and McTavish will be releasing the English language version, titled It’s All Coming Back to Me, in February of 2023. The release date was confirmed by Sony Pictures Releasing.

The Outlander series has been a big success, with fans bringing in a record-breaking visitor traffic to Scotland. The show has inspired a 200% increase in visitors to Scotland, which has been reflected in tourism statistics for the country. The second series of Outlander will be available to watch on Amazon.com and on the Starz channel in the US.

As for his other projects, Heughan has starred in several campaigns for Barbour. He has received a number of awards for his role in the show, including the Saturn Award for Best Actor in a Television Drama. He also won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor. He has a charity organization called My Peak Challenge, which raises money for cancer research and for other causes.
