Tayvon Thomas Net Worth

Tayvon Thomas has had an eventful few weeks. Ahead of Utah’s match against San Diego State, his aunt passed away. Following this tragedy, Tayvon took an emergency visit back home to Dayton so his family could say their final goodbyes.

He claimed he did not seek to create more problems but rather wanted to let potential shooters know that violence may not be their only option.

Early Life and Education

Thomas was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi where she currently resides. She earned a Bachelor’s of Creative Writing at Belhaven University as well as being an accomplished gymnast who participated in the 2017 P&G U.S. Championships competitions.

Thomas was inspired by Rachel Jeantel, who gave testimony against George Zimmerman – the man charged with shooting unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin and then being accused by media of appearing uneducated – at George Zimmerman’s trial for Trayvon’s killing. Media ridiculed her, suggesting she appeared uneducated. Thomas wanted to write about the cost of speaking up.

Thomas has an extensive criminal history, which includes multiple convictions for assault and drug dealing. At a hearing held in 2017, his lawyer explained he had been subject to extensive abuse at the hands of his mother as he battled mental illness issues; these included having wanted to murder a cat.

Professional Career

After suffering through a junior college season cut short by COVID-19, Thomas came to Utah hoping for another opportunity at professional football. Running backs coach Kiel McDonald noticed Thomas during fall camp and offered him a spot on their squad which ultimately went on to claim the Pac-12 championship title.

Thomas excelled this season, rushing for 1,108 yards and 21 touchdowns while helping Utah defeat USC and Arizona State back-to-back for advancement to the Rose Bowl.

Devontal Thomas, 27, who shot 2-year-old Nikolette Rivera to death at her Philadelphia row house last March has been sentenced to 55 years of incarceration. Two days after arriving there he committed suicide; Pennsylvania State Police are currently conducting their investigation as to the cause of Thomas’ death.

Achievement and Honors

Thomas has also written novels and short stories dealing with family, teen issues and fatherhood, which she has spoken about at schools, colleges, prisons and conventions.

Thomas has been selected as one of three finalists for the Derland Moore Award, joining Kennett’s Jordan Jarrett and Poplar Bluff’s Hunter Jenkins from Kennett and Poplar Bluff respectively. The final decision will be announced next month.

Last season, Thomas led Utah with 1,108 yards and 21 touchdowns rushing – making him its top back since 2021. Although Thomas initially struggled with ball security issues, after working closely with Coach Kyle Whittingham to address them he saw significant success.

Thomas has also tested his hand at directing, creating a five-minute short film called Officer Down which made its debut at several 2014 film festivals and was an official selection.

Personal Life

Former Utah Utes running back Thomas has experienced many personal difficulties. On the field, Thomas is recognized for his speed and versatility but often struggles to remain consistent. Additionally, injuries have plagued him, as have legal matters off-gridiron.

Early this year, prosecutors charged Thomas in connection with the shooting death of 2-year-old Nikolette Rivera and sentenced him to 55-110 years of incarceration.

District Attorney Joseph Barros reported that Thomas and Freddie Perez shot into Rivera’s Kensington home because they suspected her father belonged to the same drug gang they did. Furthermore, both individuals shot at cars and homes near Boudinot and Clearfield streets where one person in a wheelchair and carpet cleaner were wounded by gunfire from either location.

Net Worth

Trinity Thomas has amassed significant wealth through her professional gymnastic career and is estimated to be worth an estimated net worth between $1 Million and $5 Million dollars.
