Early Life and Education

Tom Mullin was born on 26 August 1891 in Maxwelltown, Dumfriesshire and worked as a pattern weather forecaster before signing onboard the Titanic as third class steward on 6 April 1912. Fourteen days after its sinking his body was recovered by cable ship Minia.

As someone involved with service learning throughout his professional career, Mullin has the skills and experience necessary to help Herring Gut reach its next level of collaborative partnership with new audiences for educational outreach initiatives. Furthermore, he can identify opportunities for students to gain real life work experience while giving back to their communities.

Moon Mullin leaves behind his wife Mary; brother John; three daughters Jane (John) Schmidt of Dublin Ohio, Deborah Quinn from Columbus OH and Theresa “Tracy” Mullin from Springfield Ohio as well as five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Professional Career

Mullin has focused his professional career around environmental education/interpretation and natural resource management, working with nonprofit, local, state, and federal agencies as well as community organizations. Additionally, he serves on numerous boards.

As part of his many accomplishments, he has received multiple awards for his efforts. Most recently, Maine Campus Contact honored him with the Donald Harward Award for service learning efforts; this honor recognizes faculty who demonstrate reflection, community benefit and reciprocity with their partners through service-learning projects.

Mullin is highly skilled at litigating cases in environmental law matters related to environmental resource and consumptive use permits, representing clients before local governmental boards seeking entitlements, as well as serving clients seeking entitlements before them. His professional experiences outside law add a distinct edge to his practice and give him a distinct perspective.

Achievement and Honors

Tom Mullin has received many honors throughout his professional life. As an author, he penned several bestselling novels such as the classic Depression-era bank robbers fighting corruption and race relations in “The Firefly Brothers”.

Mullin is also well known for his teaching and service learning projects that make an immediate difference in people’s lives while giving students real world professional experience. Additionally, the professor works with community colleges to establish STEM ambassador programs.

Sheppard Mullin is honored to have been selected as a finalist for MCCA’s 2019 Thomas L. Sager Award, which recognizes Am Law 200 firms for outstanding efforts in diversity and inclusion efforts. During nomination process, Sheppard Mullin received praise for its innovative bilingual/bicultural associate development program.

Personal Life

Thomas Mullin is a freelance artist/colorist working for Marvel & DC Comics as well as holding a 2nd degree black belt at ATA Martial Arts of West Chester, PA. Additionally, he attended Avon Grove High School before going on to Mansfield University for further study.

He is an elder at Glengormley Congregation in Co Londonderry, and enjoys history and its literature immensely.

Herring Gut Learning Center of Port Clyde appointed him to its Board of Trustees and Maine Woods Forever’s Board. Additionally, his background lies in environmental education and resource management.

Thomas Mullin is an American businessman. Currently serving as Chairman of TD Bank USA Holding Co and serving on the board of Albany Law School, Thomas has made several noteworthy stock trades over recent years.

Mullin played for the Golden State Warriors from 1985-1993, helping lead them to five consecutive playoff appearances and representing United States men’s national basketball at various global tournaments.

Mullin began coaching after retiring from professional basketball. For one season before stepping away to pursue other ventures and eventually become an adviser for Sacramento Kings.
