Early Life and Education
Daniel was raised in a close-knit and religious family. As an excellent student, Daniel often won first prize at public speaking competitions he participated in. This success can be credited to his doting uncle Bro. Eliseo Soriano who encouraged him to study mass communications and broadcasting so he can provide greater service to Members Church of God International (MCGI).
He played Joel Samuels on long-running Australian drama Neighbours for four years, then took on a leading role in Canadian supernatural medical drama Saving Hope in 2012.
He appeared as vampire Elijah Mikaelson in both episodes of The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off Originals, filming currently. Additionally, he hosted DZMM’s Gising Pilipinas morning show before.
Professional Career
Daniel is an enthusiastic sales professional who thrives on building strong client relationships. With a master’s degree in healthcare administration, his focus lies primarily in sponsorship sales as well as business development and strategic partnerships.
Apart from his musical pursuits, he works as an intern coordinator at Argonne National Laboratory providing administrative support for University Student Programs (USP) internship students. He works hard to ensure smooth transitions for these USP interns while creating enriching STEM learning experiences for them.
Daniel Fried, previously the guitarist in bands such as Bad Sports and Radioactivity, has now created TVs Daniel. Channeling 90s one hit wonders and iconic rock bands’ sound with amplified simple chord progressions that lead the listener along this new punk ethos journey, their debut album Never Change explores heartbreak, death and self-worth – creating an experience like none other!

Daniel has garnered numerous accolades and awards throughout his career. He has appeared on television shows like This is Your Life and Top of the Pops, been invited as a guest at London’s Wigmore Hall, and been made an honorary member of the Order of the British Empire.
He has performed on stages in Dublin and Branson, USA where his show sells out swiftly. Recently he was part of a spectacular Dublin Convention Centre production for an exclusive Christmas special performance.
Hackathons – 24-hour competitions where students create new technologies – are his favorite pastime, and he serves as an active ambassador for the Honors College and connecting with prospective students. He founded and captains WSU’s first Battlebots team as another fun way of building community connections!
Personal Life
Daniel and Samantha have been married for more than six years; she works in banking at one of the world’s premier financial institutions and they remain closely attached. Though Daniel prefers that their personal lives remain private, their commitment is undeniable.
Daniel enjoys spending his free time playing basketball and soccer, writing and performing music, as well as participating in TV’s Daniel, an Austin, Texas-based band founded in 2017 that draws its inspiration from punk ethos and British pop anthems such as the music of Bad Sports and Radioactivity. Their debut album Never Change was released through Wild Honey Records and tackles topics like heartbreak, death, and self-worth.
