Achievement and Honors
Waterston Central, Tri Pointe Homes’ master-planned community in Gilbert, Arizona, is an award-winning gated residential neighborhood situated east of Veterans Oasis Park and named by Builder & Developer magazine as Community of the Year for 2022 due to its premium lifestyle made possible by exceptional design, high-quality product offerings, luxurious amenities, abundant natural connections and its coveted East Valley location.
The community boasts a seven-acre Central Park and Grand Ramada, a centralized lake with great lawn, clubhouse, pool and pocket parks for each new neighborhood. The overall design takes cues from nearby Veterans Oasis Park’s natural environment and creates an environment focused on outdoor living, adventure and water.
Waterston’s paintings capture a spiritual movement that’s both physical and internal. His sensibility guides his choice of materials, which include encaustic–an old master painting technique used to add luminosity–and the alchemy of gesso making that Renaissance artists employed but now used by Waterston himself.
His affinity for Eastern religions and philosophy can be seen through his paintings: feathered tendrils evoke traditional Indian designs while rugged icicles wrap themselves around smooth island forms to evoke them all.
At Haines Gallery, his works exude an air of melancholy; this aesthetic is accomplished using color that balances hazy grays with airy whites and toasty beiges for maximum effect.
Gilbert, Arizona boasts a new neighborhood offering the ideal blend of serenity and convenience for its residents. Here they enjoy top schools and an enduring economy; this area is also widely respected for its cleanliness, safety, and well-maintained infrastructure.
The community was designed around outdoor living, featuring a 7-acre Central Park and Lake, access to Veterans Oasis Park nearby and pocket parks and walking trails in each neighborhood.
